Immerse yourself in the delights of Venice, a serene city often hailed as the epitome of serenity, on a guided walking tour led by a local expert. Marvel at the splendid architecture, picturesque bridges, and winding canals that grace this enchanting city. Explore remarkable landmarks such as the grand Doge's Palace and the celebrated Piazza and Basilica of San Marco. Traverse the charming canals aboard a traditional gondola for a unique perspective of the city. Conclude the day with a night of self-guided exploration and dining at your leisure. 
Embark on a private group water taxi journey from your hotel to reach your coach and continue your adventure in Florence, the heart of the Tuscan region. Along the way, make a stop in the vibrant, historically renowned city of Bologna, where you can savor free time and partake in lunch at your own pace. Upon arriving at your Florence city center hotel, engage in an orientation walk guided by your tour director, allowing you to acclimate to this stunning city. Subsequently, seize the opportunity for personal exploration, taking in the beauty of Florence, a city that birthed the Renaissance's finest art and architectural achievements. Conclude the day by indulging in an authentic Tuscan dinner with your fellow travelers at a local Florence restaurant. 
Now, your Taste of Italy journey leads you to the Eternal City, Rome. En route, make a picturesque stop in the hill town of Orvieto, where you'll indulge in a delightful tasting of its renowned local wine. Upon reaching Rome, you'll explore the iconic Colosseum, an architectural marvel dating back to 72-80 AD. This grand structure once accommodated up to 80,000 spectators who gathered to witness gladiator contests and dramatic performances. (Please be aware that, on select departures, the visit to the Colosseum may take place on day 6.) As you explore the Forum, you can almost envision the lingering spirits of the Caesars in this ancient heart of the Roman Empire. Your evening's accommodation is nestled in the historic center of Rome. 
This morning, savor the freedom to explore Rome at your own pace. Enjoy your leisure time discovering the city independently. In the afternoon, embark on a guided tour of the Vatican, gaining access to the Museums, which includes entry to the illustrious Sistine Chapel and the awe-inspiring St. Peter’s Basilica. (It's important to note that there are occasions when the Vatican may close the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica; hence, the visits are subject to availability.) Later, delight in an evening meal at a local restaurant. 
Leave Rome behind as you journey to the UNESCO-listed Pompeii, a city trapped in history by the volcanic eruption of 79 AD. Gain insights into its rediscovery in 1748 and its meticulous excavation during a guided tour of this archaeological marvel. Relish a delectable lunch at an authentic Neapolitan pizzeria before reaching your Sorrento hotel. Sorrento, a vibrant coastal town since Roman antiquity, is renowned for its breathtaking vistas of villas perched atop the rugged cliffs that adorn the coastline. 
In the morning, board a high-speed ferry for a swift voyage across the Bay of Naples to the enchanting isle of Capri. Revel in the mesmerizing beauty of this island paradise. Following this, set sail to Amalfi, passing by charming fishing communities, clifftop churches, and exquisite architecture. Amalfi, renowned for its handcrafted ceramics, vibrant tiles, and the ancient art of paper-making, awaits your visit. Here, you'll enjoy leisure time for sightseeing and a flexible lunch. Later, return to Sorrento for a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers. Your Taste of Italy tour ends after breakfast in Sorrento.
